Should you have gone for the five year warrantee on your Washing machine

Let’s face it; you’ve got a list as long as your arm of things that have to be done yesterday. From busy mum, to student, single Dad to hotel owner, when “repair washing machine” is number twelve on your “To Do List”, it can just about push you over the edge.

OK let’s not get too melodramatic, but if a reliable washing machine is central to the smooth running of your operation, then when it gives up the ghost, it can be a real downer! Items such as washing machines are expected to last a long time. I remember one that I had got second hand which lasted so long that I was forced to just replace it. I felt very guilty about it. It had done nothing wrong!

When something does go wrong with your washing machine, it’s then that you wish you’d purchased that extra “Five year warrantee” you turned your nose up at on purchase. Apparently machines can be covered by the “Sale of Goods Act” for six years, although it apparently depends on what “sufficiently durable” means. You should also be aware that if you approach a washing machine repair company only to spend money attempting to put things right, then find out you’re at fault for using it wrongly; you might be out of pocket.

All being well though, you’ll find a company with 2,900 manufacturer engineers, country wide who after offering a very competitive quote will be with you in double quick time. One more thing off the “To Do list” then.
